Updated on 05/02/2026
The Lady Eagles endured the bitter cold Big Rapids Cardinal Invitational on Friday night and finished in 6th, one point behind Central Montcalm in 5th.
The distance girls were actually able to put together great races, enjoying solid places and many personal bests (PB). The 3200 meter relay team of Shelby Zimmer, Hayla Goble, Joselyn Vogel, and Elliana Max led off the running events with its season best time and the silver, second place medals.
Max also contributed a second place in the 3200 meter run as well as a third place and PB in the 1600 meter run. Vogel had a fantastic day earning the third medal behind Max in the 3200, and seventh place in the 1600. Both were PBs! Bayla Curtis added a 7th place in the 800 meter run. Brooke Scheidel also ran a PB in both the 800 and 1600.
Brooklin Armstrong, Olivia Helsen, Callie Stinson, and Goble teamed together to earn 4th place in the 800 meter relay. Goble contributed to two more sixth place relay scores. She anchored the 400 meter relay with Stinson, Alyssa Schuiling, and Scheidel. Goble led the 1600 meter relay with Bayla Curtis, Max, and Zimmer.
In the field events, Addison Korcal was the highest finish in 4th in the shot put. Zoe Cato snagged 7th in the shot, and Korcal came back for 8th in the discus. Zimmer soared almost 15 feet for 7th in the long jump.
