Two Kent City student-athletes are part of the co-op with Sparta Hockey for the 2025-26 season: Harrison Smith and Dakota Riscili.   These two seniors have two more regular season games on the schedule, first a road game on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Griff’s Georgetown vs. Jenison at 4:00 p.m. and then Senior Night on Saturday, February 14, 2026 vs. Kalamazoo Central vs. Griff’s Ice House (Belknap) at 4:00 p.m.  The Spartans are 13-12 heading into the weekend and are gearing up for the MHSAA Regionals that begin next week.  In the first round, Sparta will play on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. on their home ice (Griff’s Ice House).   Since it is an MHSAA event, all tickets will be through GoFan.  To purchase tickets and see Harrison and Dakota in action, use the following link: MHSAA Regional Quarterfinal — Sparta vs. East Kentwood.   

We would like to wish Harrison and Dakota the best of luck as they finish up the regular season and thank them for all of their hard work and dedication they have put in as members of the Kenowa Hills and Sparta Hockey teams over the past four seasons!   Good luck in the post season – Eagle Nation will be cheering for you!

Plans after Graduation: Attend college to pursue a job as a Teacher and continue playing hockey.

Dakota Riscili

Plans after Graduation: Attend college to study Entrepreneurship & Graphic Design and continue with football.
