Earlier this fall (September 17) Kent City Athletics came together on Kleefstra Syndrome Awareness Day, in an incredible way to show support and love for one of our own — Adalee Pelletier Harding.   

Adalee, who lives with the rare genetic disorder known as Kleefstra Syndrome, was celebrated across Kent City Athletics as our student-athletes and coaches joined in by wearing purple to raise awareness.

The Varsity Volleyball team invited Adalee to their practice, where they all wore purple, took pictures with her, and surprised her with a goodie bag full of volleyball gear she absolutely loved. 💜

The Varsity Soccer team also joined in, wearing purple pre-wrap on their wrists in Adalee’s honor. And throughout the day, countless other students and athletes proudly wore purple to show their support.

Adalee’s family shared the following message of gratitude:

“The love and support we received from student-athletes and coaches was amazing and something our school should be proud of! Our family is so unbelievably thankful to be a part of this community and proud of the acceptance our youth have shown toward Adalee. God puts us in places for a reason, and there’s a reason we were called to Kent City — the community and our athletes demonstrate this every day!”
