Athletic Weekly 2-9 – 2-14As we head into mid-winter break, Kent City athletics is entering one of the busiest and most exciting stretches of the winter season. This week sets the tone, as our wrestling program hosts MHSAA Team Wrestling Districts on Wednesday right here at Kent City. The postseason atmosphere officially begins! What makes this run even more special is that it doesn’t stop with wrestling. Each week moving forward, another Kent City winter sport will step onto the MHSAA postseason stage—bowling next week (at Sherman Lanes), boys basketball in two weeks, and girls basketball in three weeks. Even better, Kent City will serve as the host site for all of these postseason events. If our wrestling team advances out of Team Districts on Wednesday—as expected—we will also host Team Wrestling Regionals next week.We encourage our community to come out and support our student-athletes as they compete for championships on their home floor and lanes. Athletic Weekly 2-2 – 2-7It was an outstanding week for Kent City athletics, highlighted by two CSAA Blue conference championships and strong momentum heading into a busy stretch of competition. On Wednesday, our varsity wrestling team clinched the CSAA Blue title in convincing fashion, finishing the dual season undefeated and earning the program’s first league championship since 2021–22. Adding to the celebration, our varsity girls bowling team also captured the CSAA Blue championship on Saturday, securing the title with two hard-fought dual victories over Reed City and Lakeview. As our winter sports continue to shine, we are reminded of the importance of the positive, respectful, and supportive culture that defines Kent City athletics. Our student-athletes work tirelessly to represent our school and community with pride, and the encouragement they receive from the stands plays a meaningful role in their experience and success. The excitement continues this week

Athletic Weekly 1-26 - 1-31This week’s focus is on two teams with a chance to clinch a conference championship: varsity girls bowling and varsity wrestling. While all of our winter teams remain in the hunt for a league title, these two have been perfect to this point. When the match has been on the line, they’ve made the plays and hit the shots needed to secure victories. The challenges ahead will not be easy (more on that below), but both teams are just steps away from the summit. Make it a point this week to wish these bowlers and wrestlers good luck and to come out and support them on their quest for a conference title. Wrestling will be in the Nest on Wednesday, and the bowlers will take the lanes at Remus Lanes on Saturday. As for our other winter teams that have taken a conference loss or two, nothing has been decided yet. Keep battling one game at a time—and who knows, we may even get a little help from our friends along the way.Week in ReviewVarsity Boys Basketball: The varsity b

Athletic Weekly 1-19 - 1-24A busy and competitive stretch awaits Kent City athletics as the Eagles face a variety of challenges across multiple sports. From a rare non-league bowling tournament featuring top-level competition, to key CSAA matchups on the mat, and tightly contested games on the hardwood, this week tested the Eagles’ depth, focus, and resilience. With postseason play inching closer, every match and frame continues to carry added importance as Kent City looks to build momentum against quality opponents. As winter weather remains a factor, families are reminded of the process for snow days. Forecasts are monitored throughout the day—especially afternoon and evening conditions—and communication takes place with opposing schools before final decisions are made. These decisions are not taken lightly. If it appears conditions will improve as the day progresses, high school contests may still be played and facilities opened for practices. Athletic Weekly 12-8 - 12-13It was a GREAT start to our winter season, with the Eagles finishing 12–1 overall in thirteen contests during the opening week. Even more exciting is the rise in participation across our programs. This was especially noticeable on Friday at the 34th Annual Kent City Wrestling Kickoff Classic. For the first time ever, Kent City fielded two teams in the season-opening tournament. This allowed twice as many student-athletes to gain valuable experience on the mat.On Saturday at Sheridan Lanes, our varsity bowling teams also benefited from strong numbers in 2025–26. The Eagles were able to sub in bowlers during their match against Big Rapids—an approach that not only helped the team, but also provided important competitive reps for underclassmen who are developing into future contributors. This healthy competition for varsity spots is both welcomed and encouraged. We want as many Kent City students as possible to have opportunities to participate in
